Introduction
The Group Projects Abroad – Argentina (GPA) trip was funded by the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program. It was organized by Maria Cristina Santana-Rogers and Maria Redmon, faculty in the Modern Languages and Literatures Department at the University of Central Florida. The Fulbright-Hays Program supports overseas projects in training, research, and curriculum development in Modern Languages and Area Studies.
The UCF GPA project was titled A Woman’s Place: Language and Culture Alive in Argentina. It was designed to enhance our understanding of the culture, economics, politics, and history of Argentina from a gender perspective. The program included UCF faculty as well as K-12 teachers from the Orlando area.
The in-country activities were led by Maria Redmon with the support of a team from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA).
