Study Abroad

As a result of the trip, I have begun the process of organizing a study abroad experience to Argentina. The School of Politics, Security, and International Affairs (SPSIA) does not currently have any study abroad opportunities in Latin America, so this would be a very good addition to the docket of programs available to students.

The contacts made throughout the trip have been invaluable and helping to plan the program. In addition, having participated in all the field trips and activities that were organized for us, has provided me with an effective template for a future study abroad program in Argentina.

Class Redesign

The material that I collected throughout my time in Argentina has been useful in helping me to redesign several of my classes. Each one will have at least one module based on material collected during the trip. The classes that will benefit from this material are:

  • CPO 3034 (Politics of Developing Areas)
  • CPO 4303 (Comparative Latin American Politics)
  • CPO 4784 (Political and Economic Inequality in Comparative Perspective)
  • INR 4075 (Human Rights Policy)
  • INR4076 (Global Drug Policy)
  • INR 4008 (Global Perspectives)
  • INR 4085 (Women, Gender and Globalization)
  • PUP 3014 (Comparative Public Policy).

Argentina Student Group Advising

I was also honored to be designated as the inaugural Argentina Student Club advisor.

The Argentina Club was established in January of 2023 to serve as the “home away from home” for Argentine students at UCF. In addition,

The goals of ARSA are to spread Argentinian culture among the UCF community by hosting different events, and workshops with educational propouses. Also provide any available resources for Argentinian Students that need them. We want to create a community where everyone can be part of and where we can share the different traditions the Argentinian Culture has. Our mission is to Create a community that promotes and celebrates Argentinian culture among the UCF community with Argentinian Students. Also, helping recently arrived Argentinian students with the adaptation process to a new country.
